Christmas Treats for your Pet!

Nothing says Happy Holidays & childhood memories like filling your home with the fresh baked aroma of ginger bread & sugar cookies. When the weather outside is frightful it’s time to turn up the heat in the kitchen and get baking with the entire family, including Fido and Fluffy.

Tis’ the season to get in the kitchen with your four legged official bowl batter licker and taste taster.  So put on your apron, pre-heat the oven and set the timer. Dust off those baking sheets, mixing bowls, cookie cutters, measuring cups and that rolling pin for a festive time in the kitchen with your four-legged friend.

Gourmutt Holiday Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Mix 2 cups all-purpose flour and 1 cup of whole wheat flour in a medium sized bowl. In a large bowl, mix 1 teaspoon molasses, 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter and 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until smooth. Scoop into small balls and place on a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Flatten each ball with the back side of the fork in both directions, creating a crisscross score design. You can also get out your cookie cutters and have some yuletide fun! Bake at 350 for approximately 30 minutes. Cool before giving the treat to your dog. Store these treats in a sealed container for up to a week.
