Carrie Rodriquez, D.V.M
Born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, Dr. Rodriquez attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate degree.
I grew up on a small family farm taking care of our own horses, dogs, ducks, rabbits, etc. and the occasional goat or other animal that we would take in to nurse back to health. I have always loved nurturing animals and helping them feel better. I also like the scientific aspect of putting the diagnostic puzzle together without the help of the animal communicating its problem to you and seeing a good response and improvement in return. I received my pre-vet experience by working for a small animal practice in Jacksonville. I was also a large animal (equine) vet tech at UF during my undergrad.
I enjoy all aspects of general practice but especially internal medicine and basic soft tissue surgery for dogs and cats.
I married my best friend, Casey, in 2008 (we met at UF and have been together since we were 19). He is an electrical engineer at Harris. This June 28, 2013, we had our first child, Zachary Philip Rodriguez, who is now our pride and joy and has stolen our hearts. My Mom and Dad still live in Jacksonville. I also have a younger brother, Ben, who lives in Sarasota, and a younger sister, Lisa, who lives in Jacksonville.
My sweet pets are: Xena, a Harlequin colored Great Dane who is a 100 lb. lap dog and loves to find trouble to get into (she’s lucky she knows a vet) and Cosmo, a 60 lb. mixed breed dog that I got while in college at UF. Cosmo has become Zachary’s protector and can be found wherever the baby is.
Dr. Rodriguez plays an active role in the AVMA, FVMA, and her church, Trinity Presbyterian.
