Stephen Joiner, D.V.M

Dr. Joiner has lived in Melbourne since he was in the second grade. He grew up around the Animal Medical Clinic, as his father, Dr. Charles Joiner, was one of the founders of AMC. It just always seemed right to be a veterinarian and no other profession was ever really considered. He credits his father with teaching him a lot of the technical and communication skills that he still uses today.  Dr. Joiner graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Joiner is one of the owners of the practice, but he is currently “mostly” retired.  “I have practiced general small animal medicine and surgery for most of my career, but I spent most of my time in soft tissue, orthopedic, and oral surgery. Although I still love the relationships built in the exam room, I find surgery and dentistry extremely satisfying.”  So satisfying that occasionally he fills in to do surgery when one of the other doctors is on vacation.

Dr. Joiner is married to Audrey who is a retired Nurse Practitioner.  They have two grown children, Austin and Chelsey, and five grandchildren. Our toy poodle, Trey, completes the family. I really enjoy outdoor activities, Gator sports, and working on the family farm in North Florida.”
